Arroyo. Exposición individual is a 24 hour documentary filmed in black and white, directed by Alberto Anaut and produced by the Círculo de Bellas Artes. The launch of the documentary coincides with the exhibition Bazar Arroyo which is open to the public from today. The film was shot in the studio of the artist from the 6th to the 12th of September 2012.

Eduardo Arroyo (painter, sculptor, scenographer, poster designer and writer) is one of the most important European representatives of Figuration, and accepted being interrogated for a whole day: 24 hours, from 8 am till the same time on the next day, without cutting or restricting any issue. The project Arroyo. Exposición Individual is filmed in the relaxed context of his own studio and with a camera recording all his words and movements. His interlocutor, the manager of La Fábrica, Alberto Anaut, takes him through several episodes of his life: the early death of his father, his training, his voluntary escape to France, his participation in May ’68, his arrest by Franco’s police, exile, his left-wing political position and his later separation from some ideals, his years in Italy, the trade of the painter, the creation of some of his most important works, his passion for literature, his final return to Spain and ethics.
