Images by Clemente Bernad seem to take a specific ethical position. They are images in which something always happens and in them the photographer tries to discover or confirm his position in regard to what he shoots and the moral validity of this attitude. Bernad seems to have a need to be there in order to understand and question what is happening. Whether they are day labourers in Andalusia, "rebels" in Chiapas, social outcasts in Madrid, Sahrawi women or radical Basque abertzales, the photographer needs to enter their world in order to try to understand it.
