Philippe Halsman is known for his portraits of celebrities like Alfred Hitchcock, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe, as well as his covers for Life magazine. He was unquestionably one of the most important photographer artists in the 20th century.
This book, co-published with Obra Social “la Caixa”, offers a retrospective of his oeuvre through 150 pieces from the family art collection, which delve into his work in Paris for the first time, along with the wide range of subjects he worked with, including portraits, reports, fashion, nudes and his famous Jump Pictures.
The works in the book are part of the exhibition which will be held at Barcelona’s Caixa Forum from July to November 2016, and at Madrid’s Caixa Forum from December 2016 to March 2017.
