The selection of images was made following the criterion of a collective view in order to represent the dominant trends, thus obliging a synthesis in favour of images that best contribute to tracing the path of this specific history of photography.
Apart from photographic creation, some of the most important published works are also included as well as the filmed contributions of some artists who have carried their experimentation to cinema, such as Alexander Hammid, Otakar Vavrá, Frantisek Pilát, en Prague; Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, Fernando Léger and Salvador Dalí with Luis Buñuel, in Paris, and Domènec Gimenez, in Barcelona.
