Common Projects of the Artists and Investigators of the Spanish Academy in Rome 2013-2014
This book, offered with a bag, shows an innovative project of the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome: The creation of the merchandising of a Pop-Up store in the Royal Spanish Academy in Rome. Just like a pop-up store that sells a different product every week, the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome changes its supply and products every year with a new group of artists and researchers. The store is the same but its inhabitants and its works change in accordance somehow with the dynamics of the pop-up retail.
Based on this idea, the Department of Cultural and Scientific Relations of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation has decided this year to propose as a common project the creation of the merchandising of the shop of this Pop Up Royal Academy in Rome. In a limited edition the interns have been able to create their own brands to launch, publicize and sell their products in the pop-up shop of the Academy, which has two versions: the virtual store where they have been able to upload images of their works and products throughout the year, and the real pop-up store/exhibition of their works in the premises of the Academy. All the works have been included in this Catalog of The Shop.
