Uwe Bedenbecker, the first international author who joins Caravanbook team, proposes a photo essay on London: London Windows, Nature & One Tattoo. A publication with which the author continues to reflect on the subject that haunts him, the relationship between civilization and nature in large cities and remote islands.
Uwe Bedenbecker (Essen, 1965) devotes himself to free photography projects and is a keen photobook collector in addition to his work in the flower and plants segment. He is a self-taught photographer and expanded his knowledge in workshops with well-known photographers and photobook experts such as Wolfgang Zurborn, Markus Schaden and Harvey Benge. His work was shortlisted at the Dummy Award Kassel 2015 and he was a nominee at the ViennaPhotoBookAward 2016.
In his photography, Uwe puts a special emphasis on the examination of the relationship between humans and nature in different cultures of our world. He finds his subjects mainly in large cities as well as on remote islands: both are places where civilisation and nature encounter each other in an area of limited space. London Windows Nature and One Tattoo is his second publication after Dialectics of Nature (published in the Zine Collection of Editions Bessard 2015).
Uwe lives with his wife Bettina in Meerbusch close to Düsseldorf and both love travelling and reading a (photo)book in their small garden.
