Pedro Cabrita Reis (Walking on the Earth amongst Trees and Stones)
Delivery policy (edit with Customer reassurance module)
The complex work of Pedro Cabrita Reis (Lisbon, 1956) has gained wide international recognition that has positioned it as a crucial, decisive example since the 1980s. One of its main characteristics is covering a wide variety of media: painting, sculpture, photography, drawings and installations, created with industrial and found materials, as well as manufactured objects.
His work focuses on aspects associated with space and memory, achieving a suggestive association power thanks to its capacity to go beyond the visual form. Its complexity and diversity have anthropologic considerations as a starting point, which are contrary to reductionism in sociological discourse. In fact, Pedro Cabrita Reis’ oeuvre is based and constructed on silences and indignations.
Walking on the Earth Amongst Trees and Stones brings together the works shown at the exhibition of the same name, at the twenty-fourth edition of Estampa Contemporary Art Fair, between 20 and 24 September 2017, in Matadero Madrid.
