This album of photos organised in chronological order of the great rock myth offers a pretext for narrating fifty years of photographic portraits, the relationship between photographers and celebrities, the evolution of fashions and hairstyles and the creation of the rock aesthetic. Mick Jagger´s figure is already universal. His radically characteristic face has turned him into the prototype of the rock star. His charisma and way of moving play a major role in the admiration that he inspires in his fans and the passion he is capable of unleashing. Behind him, one of the longest careers in rock which he promoted with the aid of the first-class photographers who worked with him in preparing photo essays, posters and record sleeves.
The book contains a prologue by François Hebel, the director of the Rencontres d´Arles and the driver behind the project. It also contains an annex with the biographies of the participating photographers in which they discuss the circumstances under which the photos were taken.
