In the transition from the 70 to the 80, Javier Porto (Madrid, 1960) conjugated street photographer vocation of the corners of their city with access to the halls of the capital city of glamor and money. And by the time he left for New York at 84, where he was assistant to Robert Mapplethorpe, Madrid seemed to be the center of the world-if you stick to the expectation aroused by then its vitality in the international press, but by then Porto and some other stars of those years noted that the move was losing pace pulse, as social and cultural movement, getting consolidated and institutionalized.
