They go out at night. They usually cover themselves in capes so they won’t be recognised. They approach their targets quickly, silently, with expert movements like urban warriors, and they act with vocational determination. The striking black and white images by photographer Jeosm portray graffiti artists jumping over fences, climbing walls and crouched down in the undergrowth, awaiting the right time to paint the walls of their city. These photographs capture this controversial art with poetic precision, and also knowledge of the cause, given that their author is a graffiti artist himself, a lifestyle that the writer and language scholar Arturo Pérez–Reverte, who wrote the texts, is also familiar with first-hand.
